A Dangerous Experience

Last month, my family and I wanted to go on holiday to Almería to visit the city and the stay for some a few days in a hotel near the beach. So, for a one weekend we got up early to set off in the morning before sunrise/before breakfast.

Two hours later, while my father was driving, a dog suddenly a dog came ran across the road. My father managed to avoided it but the lost control of the car got and ran off the motorway. The vehicle ran along skidded on the countryside off the road until it stopped.

When we finally could get off got out of the car, everyone was fine, even the animal. Then We called the roadside assistance and we came back home. Now, that dog is our pet. His name is Rocky.

Our car continued traveling  The vehicle ran along the countryside until it stopped.

When we finally could get off the car, everyone was fine, even the animal. Then we called the roadside assistance and we came back ["came back" is fine, but you could also use "returned"] home. Now that dog is our pet. His name is Rocky.
