Chinese Words Show IV
Besides the independent words in Chinese characters, there is also another type of words, Pictogram, evolving from the drawings. Actually, you don’t have to draw them exactly. Just some certain simple lines would be enough, sometimes, adding some signifies.
”①” I gonna tell you that this is a king of animal. The top part is its head. And the middle part is the body and scales. The bottom is the caudal fin. Yes, it’s a fish. 鱼 pronounces ”yǘ”
“②” There are three peaks in this letter. So this character means mountain. 山 pronounces “shān”.
Furthermore, the characters present not only a Thing, but also a movement or an action. For instance, “③” is a hand. Put the hand above 木(remember what I have told you in CWS I?木 is tree, or we can put it in another way, a plant). So “④” means pick ”采”. You can pick a flower “采花”. Pronounce “cǎi huā”
Ps: Have you ever heard of this word 采花大盗?Just google it!
