IELTS TASK 2: (15). Young People and Sport News Via TV. Thank you for helping me with corrections. Question: In many part of the world there is continuous coverage of sport on TV. Some people believe this discourage the young from taking part in any sport themselves. Discuss this view and give your idea. Answer: Nowadays, the access to sport news via television allows people to know and follow them without needing to attend those sport events in person. Some people argue about this point of view and say that this causes youngest prefer to stay at home and therefore the number of people participating in sport matches is decreasing. On one hand, it can be true that broadcasting sport games on TV could cause people staying at home while they feel it is easier which contribute younger people to being lazy. Besides, it leads to less social contact among people in an atmosphere in which they are people with similar interest; as a result, young people are alone these days and this could be a reason for having a high number of depressions among people. On the other hand, others disagree with this point of view coming with two main reasons including financial situation and high eagerness. There are many people who are fans of sport and follow them via TV while they do not have the financial conditions to participate in person. In addition to the economic condition, sometimes people have personal problems and cannot take part in their favorite games. The person who is fan of sport and have convenient situation would go to watch it personally. To conclude, I think that the question could be a little permissive while there is any statistic research about this point of view comparing the number of sport events and participants held these years and the past. Besides, this is important to consider the difficulties as well as the economic crisis of countries which could be the main reason of the decrease of the number of people participating in sport games.
