Night in the forest. (Part II)
At dawn, when her legs had rested a little, she went to the house where she had seen the light the night before. The gate was open and she knocked at the door. No one answered. She pushed the door open and entered into the house. She found a man who was sleeping on the bed and woke him up. Now, I cannot imagine what this man thought when he saw in his house the old woman, dirty, ragged and with streaked with blood. Of course he was greatly amazed. But then he snapped out of it and asked what had happened. She replied that she had got lost, and asked for a glass of water. The man gave her a glass of water, a yogurt and prepared a hot tea.
- Do you have a children? - He asked.
- Yes, two daughters, but they are in the city.
- Do you have a phone?
Yes, but I left it at home?
Where are you from?
I do not know what this place is called.
After that, my mother asked to show her where the main road was. But the man was so kind that he not only showed her the way, but he went along with her. He stopped a passing car and drove her to the house. She went into the house. He made sure that she was all right, and only then he left. I think now I have to have a serious talk with my mom. And I want to find that person because I would like to express my gratitude most heartily.
