Happy Coincidence with an old customer Yesterday a happy coincidence happened (or "occurred"). A couple of days ago, an old customer in my former company sent me a text message for inquiry of the products, which belong to the category of former company's product line. I told him that I left the former company and I was in a new company producing batteries, a kind of products not related to his inquired at all. The coincidence happened yesterday when he unexpectedly (I am intending to mean "I, not him, didn't expect that he would call me. ") called me that one of his customers were looking for batteries. I really did not expect that a customer who always purchase kitchenware would import batteries. A bit exaggerated, but I would say it is meant to be. We would be always in business relationship no matter what products each one deals. I can't find a English word to describe this. In Chinese, there is word "缘分",which means the destine or fate brings us together. I would like to know is there a phrase that has the meaning while is not offensive nor impolite for saying it to customers in business. How to describe it naturally? Thank you for your correction and comments.

I would like a natural way to describe this thing to people. For example, if I would tell this thing to the customer who called me, could I say "I didn't expect you would call" or "I didn't exspect you call". Would he misunderstand my meaning into that I don't like his calling.

A couple of days ago, an old customer in my former company sent me a text message for inquiry of the products. Can I use my previous company? my former company, Or my previous company? Which sound reasonable and natural? I intend to mean the company where I worked before the one I am currently working for.
