One BIG task in this semester This acadamic year will be my last year as a senior (or a post student in British English?). Being an English major in China, I must take the exam called TEM8 (Test for English Major Grade 8) in order to gain its certificate that is a strong proof of my level of English. But it is not the task I would like to mention today. My BIG task is my thesis for my Bachelor and is not decided yet since I'm still swinging between two topics. One is about vocabulary applied in disaster news reports of BBC and the other is about legalisation of homosexual marriage. Reasons why I'm hesitated are below seperately. According to my tutor, the former topic is anew and there are several aspects I can choose to have a further study, meanwhile data and raw materials for this topic are easy to find. Yet Im less interested in it. Althought I wish I can choose the latter topic, things that I should take into consideration pushes me to rethink whether it is prompt to be chosen. Firstly, a homosexual relationship is still a sensitive issue in China because many are traditional and Chinese hold various attitudes toward it, which means it may cause tough critiques when I give my thesis defense in the next semester. Secondly, there are some ways to search information since I know little source for searching information about this field on the Internet abroad, even website isn't affordable as restriction set by Chinese government. The only reason I want it is interest that I can't explain why. Besides, I hope one day homosexual marriage can be legalised in China. Please correct my notebook and I look forward to your opinion about my worry as well.

One BIG task in this semester

This acadamic year will be my last year as a senior (or a post student in British English?).

Being an English major in China, I must take the exam called TEM8 (Test for English Major Grade 8) in order to gain its the certificate that is a strong recognised proof of my level of English.

But it is not the task I would like to mention today.

My BIG task is my thesis for my Bachelor and is not decided yet since I'm still swinging between two topics. One is about vocabulary applied in disaster news reports of BBC and the other is about legalisation of homosexual marriage. Reasons why I'm hesitated hesitating are below seperately.

According to my tutor, the former topic is anew a new/current one and there are several aspects I can choose to have a further study in it, meanwhile data and raw materials for this topic are easy to find. Yet I'm less interested in it.

Althought I wish I can could choose the latter topic, things that I should take into consideration pushes me to rethink whether it is prompt ready to be chosen.
Firstly, a homosexual relationship is still a sensitive issue in China because many are traditional people and Chinese hold various attitudes toward it, which means it may cause tough critiques when I give my thesis defense in the next semester.
Secondly, there are some* ways to search information since I know little source for searching information about this field on the Internet abroad, even website isn't affordable available as restrictions have been set by Chinese government.
The only reason I want it is interest that I can't explain why. Besides, I hope one day homosexual marriage can be legalised in China.

You really mean 'some' in affirmative? I would would have thoughts  reason to make you rethink would be negative - there aren't many ways to research...

Please correct my notebook and I look forward to your opinion about my worry as well.
