A linguistic question: Do you know the Spanish word, “postureo”?. ( II ) In one of these programs, they presented the word “postureo”. To make postureo or “posturear” is approximately to boast of knowledge (or thing) that you actually haven’t. I don’t find a synonymous in Castilian, only the Spanish expression “presumir de algo que no tienes” is near of its meaning. I was searching for it meaning in some forums and there is not unanimity about, although the more clear definition is: “Postureo” It is to do something, not because you like it, but to say you do it. I think than in Spain exists an obvious tendency to “postureo” and many people don’t want to recognize a thing as quotidian as “I don’t know”. “No sé”. This is “postureo”, too. I have suffer this my own when I have asked someone for a direction: the person who I asked for don’t knew the direction, but as he didn’t want to recognize it, he chose to send me to wrong site. Since then usually I ask two different people to make sure I finally reach my destination. You could not believe how many times I get different answers. In the radio program that I mentioned, a reporter went to the exit of a massive concert, where he asked the audience about the performance of a particular musician. Normally, people didn’t remember such performance, but they spoke about the musician. Everyone knew him, they had heard his music, even one explained very convincingly, by the way, about his career, his successes etc. The odd thing is that the musician did not exist, in fact it was a technical partner in the radio. Yes, I know, is a radio program and the answers are skewed, but the fact is that these answers were given.
