DDLJ - A Movie To Remember - Please correct it. Today, I would like to tell you about a blockbuster Hindi movie in 1995, Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge, or better known as DDLJ. 'Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge' literally means "A person with a heart will get the bride." As you must have understood by the name, this is a romantic movie. Shahrukh Khan and Kajol were the lead actors playing Raj and Simran respectively. The story goes like this. Raj is a son of a multimillionaire who lives in London. Simran is a girl from Punjab, India, whose father is a very strict and orthodox person. Simran is supposed to marry a Punjabi boy, Kuljeet, as wished by her father. As there are only a few months left before her marriage, she decides to enjoy her life fully as marriage is going to bring her all the responsibilities and restrictions. She persuades her father to give her permission to be on a trip to Europe. In Europe, she accidentally meets Raj on a train. He gets impressed by her innocent childlike charm. After spending some time together, he falls in love with her and indirectly gives her hints about his love. She doesn't seem to be interested, maybe because her future is already written. She tells him that she is going to marry Kuljeet though she has not meet him once in her life. Disheartened, Raj decides to part ways with her and goes home. Simran gets back to India to live her mundane life. Raj reveals his love for Simran to his father, who tells him to win her back. Raj leaves for India in a new hope to meet Simran again. Yet, he is not sure whether she likes him or not. When he reaches Punjab, he sees all the preparations going on for Simran's marriage. Still, he succeeds to meet her in private and knows that she also loves him. Instead of eloping with her, he decides to stay there and win all the people there, especially her father, with his friendly behavior. With his affable nature, he gets close to everyone's heart. Yet, in the end, he is exposed as everyone knows about his true intentions. A fight ensues and he is beaten severely, but he doesn't budge at all. Seeing his unrelenting love for the girl, father melts down and hands Simran over to Raj. For true lovers, it is a must watch movie. The grace and ease with which both the actors have worked is amazing. I strongly recommend this movie to you. Watch it and tell me. This is for tonight. Corrections are welcome. I appreciate if anyone corrects this entry.
