To what extent do you agree or disagree with scientific progress? The past century witnessed a great influence of science progress in the way people think, work and play. Some people also point that the development has a negative impact. However, I do not think that the disadvantages can overweigh its advantages. It is indoubtable that technological and scientific breakthroughs have brought problems on the Earth. For example, the explosion of industries causes a variety of pollution. Also, there is an increase significant of the consumption of fossil fuels, which results in the worldwide energy crisis. However, I believe that people today need the development to make their daily life easier. The belief is based on the fact that people now can do almost everything without leaving home. For example, with the invention of online shopping, customers, especially housekeepers who feel trapped with housework or children, could buy anything they need just by clicking. Similarly, distance learning helps children and adults study at home and breaks the limits of time and places. Another obvious argument in its favour is that technology render people's work more efficient and productive. For instance, if employees are not allowed to utilize computer in work, they have to calculate and record by themselves and this process takes a great deal of time. Also, in coal mining, when there are some dangerous or difficult work that miners are not able to do, machines or electronic tools can complete the tasks instead of human beings. To sum up, I agree that there is a positive impact rather than a negative one. Because people today can always enjoy the convenience of scientific inventions in family life and work occasions.

To what extent do you agree or disagree with scientific progress?

The past century has witnessed a great influence of science progress in the way people think, work and play. Some people also point to the negative impact of development. However, I do not think that the disadvantages can outweigh its advantages.

It is undoubtable that technological and scientific breakthroughs have brought problems on the Earth. For example, the explosion of industries causes a variety of pollution. Also, there is a significant increase in the consumption of fossil fuels, which results in worldwide energy crisis.

However, I believe that people today need the development to make their daily life easier. The belief is based on the fact that people now can do almost everything without leaving home. For example, with the invention of online shopping, customers, especially housekeepers who feel trapped with housework or children, can buy anything they need just by clicking. Similarly, distance learning helps children and adults study at home and breaks the limits of time and places.

Another obvious argument in its favour is that technology renders people's work more efficient and productive. Also, in coal mining, when there is dangerous or difficult work that miners are not able to do, machines or electronic tools can complete the tasks instead of human beings.

To sum up, I agree that there is a positive impact rather than a negative one. Because people today can always enjoy the convenience of scientific inventions in family life and work occasions.
