computers vs playing outside Nowadays, electronic devices are so easy to use that children can start using them practically during their first year of life. That is specially valid for touch screen tablets or smartphones, which have an intuitive user experience, so children may understand and use it faster than some older people. But, Is screen-time keeping children’s lives away from playing sports and games? Mostly electronic devices have internet and that’s is giving us access to an extremely powerful source of information where children can entertain but also learn. Parents must be concern about what percentage of the screen-time their children are learning. For example, as we live in Chile where Spanish is the main language, I decided to switch my network to an English speaking country and limit the daily hours of screen-time. After that, my two daughters are learning English faster than their friends and we are playing outside together more than before the rule. Some people claim that screen-time is dangerous for children because it may affect their imagination and in some cases potentially create an addiction to be always online on the internet that in the future it will be very difficult to manage. I cannot forget several examples of children crying or fighting because their parents are taking away their tablet or smartphone after hours using it. That is a real issue that parents are experiencing these days but we must be responsible to learn how to deal with it as we do with other difficult behaviour of our children. Considering all that facts, it seems to me that we should be intelligent to use electronic device as a learning tool for our children and be alert on any dependence signs and keeping in mind that they are in an environment totally exposed to electronic devices, I totally support the idea to motivate them to spend more time outside with real friends.

Excellent text. Only one or two suggestions: Can / May - 'Can' indicates ability to do something whereas 'May' indicated right or permision to do something. For instance: I can play the piano. May I come in. The other is that I would say 'intelligent enough to use electronic devices'
