Inclusion in schools Having increased the inclusion of special education students with learning disabilities in general education classroom, this document describes how peer-collaboration is an effective teaching strategy for developing social and academic skills in inclusive classrooms. Different researchers have found that the direct interaction of students with disabilities with general students is a positive experience for both of them. Stereotyping and prejudice are being reduced through these teaching methods which mix general and special education students working together. The paper describes how inclusion teachers can use student collaboration to support mutual learning. The proposed method is based on mixed-abilities groups; each group works together, they are given a set time for work, cooperative-group learning, and differentiated homework. In conclusion, it is demonstrated that peer-collaboration helps both students. Students with disabilities develop social skills at the same time as general students develop tolerance and acceptance of who are different.
