Death´s day

Guatemalan cemeteries become centers of tears, but also in places of joy because the heat of (not sure what you mean-do you mean the 'influence of') the liquor, hiring many bands to remember their ancestors.

The cemetery, which for most of the year remain dirty and full of weeds, especially in the interior, is now clean and and has/takes on a colorful look for the All Saints Day and All Souls.

According to Guatemalan historians we/they have commemorated that this date back to since the year 311 when the Roman Emperor Constantine declared the Pantheon and the Temple is for of all the gods.

Regardless of the level of poverty that affects half of the 15 million Guatemalans, all cemeteries are painted and decorated as part of popular religion.

Guatemalan cemeteries are normally places to mourn, but once a year they become joyous places to celebrate and remember our ancestors with liquor and musicial troups. While most of the year they are dirty and full of weeds (especially in the country), they are cleaned and colorfully decorated for All Saints and All Souls Days.
According to Guatemalan historians, annual comemorations of the dead began in 311 CE, when Emperor Constantine declared the Pantheon to be the temple of every god. Regardless of the poverty affecting half of the fifteen million Guatemalans, all of our cemeteries are painted and decorated at this time of year as a part of a religious celebration.
