"too many" vs "too mach" vs "a lot of" Hi everyone. There was few errors in my last note. And some of them was about using ‘too many’ and ‘too much’ phrases. And today I’m going to describe grammar rules of using this phrases. Ok. Let’s go! At first I want to note there are three phases about large amount of something. 1. too much 2. too many 3. a lot of The ’too much’ phrase is used with uncountable nouns. I may be write a note about uncountable and countable nouns in future. The ‘too many’ phrase is used with countable nouns. The ‘a lot of’ is used with both types of nouns. Ok. If is the ‘a lot of’ used with both types of nouns why should we use ‘too many’ or ‘too much’ phrases? It’s because we should use the ‘a lot of’ only with good nouns and ‘too many’ or ‘too much’ with bad nouns. But what are good or bad nouns? Let’s me describe this with few examples. When you open your fridge and see a lot of bear you will say ‘Yeah there are a lot of bear!’. Because you love bear and you are happy to see it in your fridge. In this example bear is a good noun. Now let’s talk about bad nouns. Oh I have too much work today…At first I don’t like when I have to do too much work. May be you like, but I don’t. And work is an uncountable noun. Or another example with a countable noun. I have to clean too many cups and plates after dinner. Cool! I’ve finished another one note in English. And I feel myself great. The dear reader thank you for your corrections. Oh. I have another one question. How should I write ‘The dear reader’ or ‘A dear reader’? Thank you….Bye

But "too many" is ok. But "there are many theatres in my hometown" sounds too formal to my ears
