logistics management This morning I went to the logistics center to get raw material back, which is our supplier sent out. The logistics center seems to be built one or two years ago, they look like very new. Logistics industry has mushroomed over the years, there are lots of logistics centers that are located in the suburb. What is logistics? Logistics is the management of the flow of goods between the point of origin and the point of consumption in order to meet some requirement, of customers of corporations. Modern logistics management appeared in 1980s, people found that was very effective to observe, analyze and solve the problems by using the cross-functional process management. By analyzing the whole flow process of goods, enterprise can eliminate many inefficiency,which are seemingly efficiency. For example, the transport department as an independent functional department, so it will try to reduce the cost. If the goods are urgent to need, arranged to ship by sea not by plan, as you can imagine, we would definitely lose the customer while saving the cost, and then lead to failure of the whole system. So the traditional functional management is not suitable for the large-scale modern industry.
