(1) to talk about (a thing/person) OR to say something about (a thing/person)

(2) known as - это стандардная фраза

(3) после can, глагол используется без to

(4) are ненужно здесь потому, что также есть здесь aren't (We are not/aren't usually afraid of...)

(5) afraid of (a thing/person) OR, например, I am afraid. (I feel afraid.) Вещи, вызывающие страх не указан.

(6) hide us from the cold - необычное использование. Более лучший - protect OR shield

(7) prices is plural when talking about different prices, or the prices of two different things.

(8) вообще, мы говорим a thing costs (£1.50/a lot/very little...) иногда, мы можем говорить something is and then the specific amount (и тогда удельная цена) например - £1.50/$3...

(9) мы можем просто здесь говорить to чтобы значить in order to

I hope all of this helps!
