Answering an informal letter Dear Marion, It was great to hear from you! Well done with your exam, I was sure you would get it. My parents didn’t give me any money when I passed mine; you’re a really lucky girl! You say you can’t decide if to buy a computer game or some clothes. I know you really like computer games and a new racing game is about to be launched, but keep in mind we have the school party next month… so I think you should buy some new clothes. If I were you, I would buy a designer outfit. There’s a new shop in the city with lots of wonderful dresses, have you heard about it? One of Chanel is absolutely lovely! And what’s more… it’s bright and red, just your favourite colour. Do drop me a line if you have time, and tell me what you finally decide. Love, C.

This is very well written. You do a great job of engaging with your reader, showing her that you know her well and that you want what's best for her. You also do a good job of sounded educated and informal at the same time. Very well done. I made a couple of changes to enhance the letter.

Hola Clara, A good effort. Just be careful if this is for an exam - if they ask you to write an informal letter, they will be looking for an informal tone, in particular things like the opening. "Dear" tends to be used for formal/business letters, or to address an older relative, (como decir "usted" en español). So, a suggestion might be, since it appears to be a letter to a friend, "Hi Marion". Also, be careful of the difference between American and British spellings. Color/colour are both ok, but remember to decide which spelling you are going to use and be consistent. Saludos: Simón.
