CONCENTRATION (English writing-Homework) For many years the way of how to enhance our brain capabilities has been a theme of discussion among neursocietnist. To be more precise, how can we increase our concentration.Many consider impossible to exceed our brain limitations, but others point out how we can really improve them. Is it really possible for us to considerably enhance our brain capabilities such as concentration? According to neuroscientist Joe DeGutis and Mike Esterman from the Boston attention and learning lab who have dedicated 7 years of research about enhance focus. They developed a program to help people to increase their concentration by stimulating the brain by magnetic resonance and performing some computer-based tests. Unfortunately, as stated by Joe Deguits “It is typically quite difficult to improve 'normal' functioning into the above average or superior range” in other words, if you don’t have poor enough performance, training may not be effective. Meditation is another possible solution that many recommend to boost out our focus. In consonance with neuroscientist from the Harvard medical school Sara Lazar. Afte many studies she found that meditation considerably reduce the activity in the region of the brain called posterior cingulate cortex (PPC) and in consequence, a lower activity of this area means that we can catch our mind in the act of wandering. So we can avoid procrastination just by taking our dog for a tear around the woods or just by having some time in nature. In conclusion, either following a program or just relaxing, staying on task isn’t about stress ourselves about the job. It’s about allowing the brain to wonder occasionally and gently nudging it back on course.
