Il Passato
1. C'era una montagna. Un uomo vivette visse (better "viveva") sulla montagna. Lui aveva una casa piccola. Lui era alto e saggio.

2. Era freddo. Io indossai tre vestiti e sentii ([tu] senti: present - [io] sentii, [lui/lei] sentí: past historic) caldo. (I am not sure about the tense - they all are right but you'll say "indossai" and "sentii" only in a very formal writing, speaking about very old times).

3. Gli animali nella foresta [erano affamati]/[avevano fame]. Il leone mangiò un uccello.

I think I need a really hard practice! I have problem in this case (Maybe i have to be more patient, but I don't know why I expect to know automatically!)

Yes, definitely, you must be more patient! :-)
Forget, for now, the "passato remoto" and put your focus on "imperfetto" and "passato prossimo"

1. C'era una montagna. Un uomo viveva ("viveva" imperfetto; "visse" passato remoto. But in the other case you always used "imperfetto") sulla montagna. Lui aveva una casa piccola. Lui era alto e saggio.

2. Faceva freddo. Io indossavo tre vestiti e sentivo caldo - imperfetto (Io indossai tre vestiti e sentii caldo - passato remoto).

3. Gli animali nella foresta erano affamati. Il leone mangio' un uccello.

Italian grammar is very hard to learn. Don't worry. You was very good indeed!!! If you want I'm a tutor and I can help you to improve It :)
