Thanksgiving Thanksgiving is not our traditional festival, but it is one of the most festival of western countries. I am here sent my warm wishes at Thanksgiving to all the friends. I think Thanksgiving is a little like China's Middle-Autumn festival which is the also another busy travel period of the year because familes make a special effort to be together, they share a traditional meal and express gratitude for the good things in life. Some favorite pastimes include watching television, playing some games. In the American, the day after Thanksgiving marks the beginning of the Christmas shopping season, an important time for U.S.retailers, after Christmas, the real busiest travel will coming soon here.:) People celebrated on the fouth Thursday in November, which was proclaimed by President Abraham Lincoln on 1863, many Thanksgiving traditions come from that 1621 harvest celebration. Sheaves of wheat or corn are often used as decorations. Roast turkey, cranberry sauce, patatoes and pumpkin pie are commonly served at Thanksgiving dinner. But now with the life diverse, so does the Thanksgiving meal. Why people give so high value on Thanksgiving? The history back of 1620, the Pilgrims arrived America on the ship The Mayflower, they hadn't brought enough food, and it was too late to plant crops, many people died during the winter of 1620. In the spring, the local Indians taught them how to grow corn and other crops and also help them how to hunt and fish, then they had boundtiful crops in the fall of 1621, so they invited the Indians to feast on their big meal and thank for the Indians help. I think it is really a significative festival.

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is not our traditional festival, but it is one of the most important US-American festivals.  ( Thanksgiving on the fourth Thursday of November is uniquely a US-American holiday)  I am here to send my warm wishes at Thanksgiving to all my US-American friends.

I think Thanksgiving is a little like China's Middle-Autumn festival which is also another busy travel period of the year because familes make a special effort to be together, they share a traditional meal and express gratitude for the good things in life. People celebrated the Thanksgiving holiday on the fourth Thursday in November, which was proclaimed by President Abraham Lincoln on 1863, many Thanksgiving traditions come from that 1621 harvest celebration. Sheaves of wheat or corn are often used as decorations. Roast turkey, cranberry sauce, patatoes and pumpkin pie are commonly served at Thanksgiving dinner. But with diverse lifestyles nowadays, traditional Thanksgiving dinners are often replaced with non-traditional Thanksgiving meals.  Why do many US-Americans greatly value Thanksgiving?

The history of Thanksgiving dates back to 1620 when the Pilgrims arrived to America on the ship The Mayflower; they hadn't brought enough food, and it was too late to plant crops, many people died during the winter of 1620. In the spring, the local Indians taught them how to grow corn and other crops and also taught them how to hunt and fish, then they had bountiful crops in the fall of 1621, so they invited the Indians to feast on their big meal and thanked the Indians for their help. I think it is really a significant festival.
