Don't forget. What is the best form to learn vocabulary and not forget it?

The best way to remember words is to use them. I learn Japanese now and if I use (or hear) a word that I recently learned at least once, I will remember it for a very long time. If I used (or heard) it twice, I'll remember it forever.

I personally like to use spaced repition. I have found Anki to be a good (and free) program that automatically handles the scheduling for optimum retention.
