if someone recommend me, she would say.... To Whom it May Concern, I am delighted to write this letter of recommendation for Pi-Hsun Chang (Josephine Chang ). I work in Children Cancer Foundation which has long-term relationship with Cancer Children Service Club (CCS club). When I first saw Pi-Hsun, she was a sophomore and was the vice president of CCS club. I impressed that she is always with smile, consistently pleasant, and very courteous. Surprisingly, Pi-Hsun devoted herself into those children with cancer. Not every student is willing to do volunteering. She is a warm-hearted person, demonstrating motivation and enthusiasm to care those children. Company and caring children with cancer is not an easy thing, needs to be attention on many sides. Children with cancer are weak and their resistance is low. Everything they touch should be sterilized before. However, I saw Pi-Hsun noticed every detail and was very circumspection. Most important of all, she is feeling of responsibility, and showing leadership, independent thinking and the ability to take control of a situation. We held many events together, such as children’s meeting, children’s camp and so on. Every time, she was active and careful in connection, finding place, arranging activities. I remember that Pi-Hsun was the person in charge of the 2010 summer camp. She took control the situation immediately when it was suddenly raining and temporary black out, and to finish up with a perfect ending. Besides, she showed her concerned for all of members, not only the children but also volunteers, that all people like her. All in all, Pi-Hsun is a take-charge person who is able to take care with everyone and handle things efficiently and effectively. I strongly recommend Pi-Hsun as graduate student in your department.

Far too effusive, too gushing, too enthusiastic, too unreal. Such references will be much more circumspect.
