I assume you've listened to the song. I just listened to it for the first time so thank you for introducing it to me :) This is a song that the singer, Yuval Banai, wrote to his father, Yossi Banai, who was a prominent singer and artist and passed away on 2006. This is why it is sometimes confusing. 1. Unlike Nivi, I think this line does speak of a woman, the writer's wife, or his daughter. In this case I believe it's his current partner, as I just looked at his biography, and he got divorced and then met another woman after his father's death (and the two moved to a "Moshav", which is like a village, that's why he says he lives "over there, in the village"). To translate the whole verse, it goes something like: I live there, in the village, I have a house facing the mountains And on the wall hangs our picture ( = you and me, I assume, the writer and his dad) I'd like you to meet (her) She's just like (a girl) in a song And (I wish you could) enjoy sharing moments with us (lit. "being with us") 2. Catching butterflies in Hebrew is "hunting butterflies", imagine a father and a son going to the fields with a net for catching butterflies together. :) the קצת there is kind of misplaced indeed.... it can mean "some butterflies" or, if he would write נלך *קצת* לצוד פרפרים It could mean "well go catch butterflies for a bit" 3. I'd say you need to punctuate it וחיי, הם חופשיים Life in Hebrew (like god) is basically plural. So if I wish to say "life is beautiful" I'll say החיים יפים :) To phrase it as a question and answer: איך החיים? How's life? הם יפים! It is ("they are") beautiful! 4. תתקרב אתה נוגע Come closer, you're [almost] touching. (referring to his late father)

1. The pronoun היא, I think refers to the picture since in Hebrew it is feminine. And the line should translate like "It is like something out of a poem/song". 2. The word קצת, means a little as in a little amount but in the grammatical context it means some (butterflies). 3. There is no need for the pronoun they, הם is just used for emphasis.
