Pleco is the best dictionary I've ever used. Works without wifi, goes chinese to english and both ways. Gives examples. It's free. It's fast. It's amazingt. I used it all the time when living in China and it gives you multiple choices so you can show your friend all the possibilities and they can tell you which one is the best.
