Direct object "le" vs "en" quastion
I am learning French Sentence builder and here is one of my exercise
I have to translate "I threw out my old phone because i did not want it anymore"
Here is what I wrote: " J'ai jeté mon acnien téléphone parce que je ne l'ai voulais plus"
Here is the Answer key " J'ai jeté mon ancien téléphone parce que je n'en ai voulais plus"
Why the answer used "en" instead of "le" ? I thought "le" is direct object that reffer to mon ancien téléphone.
I hope you can explain this to me.
Je ne voulais plus de mon ancien téléphone : je n'en voulais plus
La règle
En = de + antécédent
Le pronom en est l'équivalent d'un complément introduit par de.
Les parents sont fiers de leur enfant. Ils en sont fiers.
