stereotypes. - 2014 12 20 I was preparing my tea when the German guy passed by. He looked surprised when I was adding milk to the tea. He asked:"why are you adding milk? What kind of tea is it?" However I am not an expert on tea, I couldn't distinguish what tea I had even. He looked more surprised:" How could you not know it? You are Chinese." I am not sure whether it would be polite if I replied him:" Do you also think I can fight with Kung Fu?" Sometimes we heard about too many stereotypes before we know a country, especially somewhere far away. For myself, I have been wondering similar questions also, for instance: 1. Are Americans really open- minded as shown in the movies? 2. Are Germans more serious than people from other countries? 3. Do Koreans eat dog meat often? 4. Do western people always go Dutch? I wish I can learn more about different cultures.
