My friends surprised me yesterday

I am happy to say that I have many friends from different ambits <not a word that ever gets used. So I'm going to talk about one of those groups.

A long time ago, when I was in the middle of the highschool, I met some interesting people. I was introduced to the group by my best friend for life. They were funny people who shared interest with me in a lot of hobbies that are considered "geeky". We were, and still are, a weird crew. Our ages and beliefs vary, and so as a result our lifestyles are completely different (Your previous sentence needed a lot of work, so I just rewrote it, hopefully this sentence is helpful).

(You can't really start a thought/paragraph with except, it needs to be connected to a previous thought) However, my best friend is different. I would not dare to say that we are the closest friends. We do not share with each other our intimate secrets or our deepest worries. We just have fun together.

But it doesn't really matter if we do not have not that level of confidence for some stuff. We meet every saturday and sometimes, I anticipate that day am eager to that day comes. When we meet (this is a better way to say it, "in these meetings" isn't technically wrong) In these meetings, we chat about our common interests, we watch movies and play some games. They are garantee of laughter.

Once known Now that you know the crew, I have to talk you about our most sacred tradition: The double birthday gift. When someone has a birthday, we give away two presents. The first one is lovely mean (I know they are opposite words) and the second one is the real gift. To get the real gift you have to "suffer" the first one. Sounds crazy but it is funny, even if you are the birthday guy.

The point is that my birthday was on december 7th. But (Don't start with but. Either continue the sentence with a comma instead, or use however) However,I recieved my present yesterday. Well, I'm going to keep for myself what the first gift was to myself, but I can show you the second one. They know that I am a huge fan of videogame 'The Legend of Zelda'. That's why they gave give away to me a backpack with in the form of the shield carried by the main character. I love them!

We were, and still are, a weird crew (bunch). We have different ages and our beliefs so our lifestyles are completely different.

Except my best friend. I do not mean to say that we are the closest of friends. We do not share with each other our intimate secrets or our deeper worries, We just have fun together.
