It's better to regret something you have done than to regret something you haven't. I finished talking to my former classmate by phone and stretched. Ten years passed after leaving the school. That’s absolutely unbelievable. I do remember all my life, friends and teachers when I was a schoolboy. I went through all my classmates in my mind. Lucy… She was one of the prettiest girls in our class… Marshall… He always opened his mouth when he was surprised and I teased him for it. Simon… We were best friends at school. But then we entered different colleges and unfortunately, our friendship broke out. Lindsey… She was my first love. I loved her so much. It was more romantic and emotionally uplifting than any other experience I had ever been through. But I didn’t dare to tell her about my feelings. The next day I woke up early, had a breakfast and left home. I was strolling along the street, when, to my surprise, I noticed the woman. It was Lindsey. She was with a man and two children, one of them was about 7 and the other one was 3. I couldn’t believe my eyes! It was really her! I didn’t know what to do. I wasn’t sure that I had to greet her. We haven’t seen each other for more than 8 years. I didn’t know what to say to her and she was with her family…But then she noticed me and cried out in surprise. «Fred! Freddy! It’s me! Lindsey! Do you remember?» she said. What a silly woman! How could I forget her? How could I forget the girl I had all my dreams about? But then I said something awful – «Lindsey? What Lindsey? Give me a minute.» «Oh, Freddy! We were classmates! Don’t you really remember me?” she said sadly. Of course, I did! But I pretended that I couldn’t remember her and then I said - «Ohh, Lindsey! It’s you! I didn’t recognize you! You look wonderful! She brightened up. «Freddy, we haven’t seen each other for ages! But you didn’t change! I’m so glad to see you! Let me introduce you my husband Ted and my children James and Kevin. Nice to meet you all! – I said. We talked to each other for 10 minutes more. Lindsey was interested in our classmates, my job, my family and all other things. I didn’t ask her anything. She looked happy. I was really glad for her. I got to work and worked hard all the day trying not to think about her. In the evening I came back home. I was tired and was going to bed early.

It's better to regret something you have done than to regret something you haven't.

I finished talking to my former classmate by phone and stretched. Ten years had passed after since leaving the school. That’s absolutely unbelievable. I do remember all my life, friends and teachers ('Do' is normally used like this if someone thinks you don't. So normally we don't use 'do' here, but it's not grammatically incorrect. You could say, I was reminiscing on my life, or I was going through the events of my life and my old friends and teachers, etc..) when I was a schoolboy. I went through all my classmates in my mind.
Lucy… She was one of the prettiest girls in our class… Marshall… He always opened his mouth when he was surprised and I teased him for it. Simon… We were best friends at school. But then we entered different colleges and unfortunately, our friendship broke out diminished (Or ended, or we didn't keep our friendship going, or we didn't keep up our friendship, etc. You might be thinking of 'broke up', which is normally only used for boy and girlfriends).
She was with a man and two children. One of them was about 7 and the other one was about 3. I couldn’t believe my eyes! It was really her!

So, you're regreting what you haven't done. Did you ever think, Lindsey maybe also loving you and waiting for you to say something to her? She finally got married until you left her without any information for ages. It's my imagination above, just for fun. Never mind!
