Non-essential Flights Should Be Cut Many people primarily choose aeroplanes as transportation, because the cost of air travel in recent years is extremely low. The conflicting view comes from those people who are concerned about environmental problems caused by excessive usages of aircrafts. It is apparent that aeroplanes make it possible for us to enjoy a wonderful travel experience, including rapid arrivals, comfortable cabins and excellent services. Also, the introduction of new technologies for the cost control, coupled with the reduction of petroleum prices, contribute to low expenses on ticket prices. As a result, it allows people to travel across boundaries cheaply, meaning that it is easy to achieve transnational businesses. Multinational enterprises can no doubt benefit from global co-operations, and from the tourist perspective, people can easily travel to wherever they want to go. Despite the convenience of air travel, it is sometimes argued that some unnecessary flights should be cancelled because of the environmental concern. Massive green gas emissions are attributed to the usages of transportation, including excessive flights on a global scale. The air pollution caused by this are responsible for climate changes such as global warming. As well as this, air travel generates noise pollution frequently, which have a seriously adverse impact on people’s health. In the face of the environmental degradation caused by air contaminants, it is important to realize that people should reduce air travels on their own initiative. If they can choose the environmentally-friendly transportation or use advanced technologies, the air quality will be improved significantly. For example, teleconference systems can be utilized for businessmen to communication with overseas customers. Also, for the travels in domestic country, the high-speed railway will be a good choice. In conclusion, although it seems unreasonable to restrain the usage of aeroplanes, people should be aware of the importance of environmental protection and cut non-essential flights.
