As and Like Today I could study my English lesson. This lesson explains how to use "as" and "like". I think is difficult for spanish speakers use those words correctly because in Spanish we only have one word "como". If some spanish person read this note I want say that AS is used to refer to a person's profession and LIKE is used for comparison or similarity. AS and LIKE can have other uses,but I think these are important. Now I am going to have my lunch because after the lunch I'll pick up my children and today, after the school we'll play at the park with other children. I'll take a sandwiches and some juice and a ball. I think we'll have fun.

Today I studied my English lesson. It explained how to use "as" and "like." I think it is difficult for Spanish speakers use those words correctly because in Spanish, "como" means "as" and "like." If a Spaniard reads this note, I want say that "as" is used to refer to a person's profession and "like" is used for comparison or similarity. "As" and "like" have other uses, but I think these two are the most important.

I am going to have my lunch now because I have to pick up my children soon. We'll play at the park with other children after school today. I'll take sandwiches, some juice, and a ball. I think we'll have fun.

<em> Myriam, you are correct. These two words have no direct translations to Spanish. Worse, they are used in different ways in different dialects; and in many idiomatic expressions. Lo mismo que "tan como," o "al igual que." Estas dos expressiones y otros como él puede ser muy confuso para los hablantes nativos de inglés como yo mismo. </em>
