My new year's resolutions I’d like to share my new year’s resolutions with you. Because I don’t want you to be bored with a long piece of writing, I would only post a part of the new year’s resolutions. First of all, I’d like to improve my English. To be specific, I am now really into speaking English fluently. Speaking English with someone effortlessly and automatically is my first priority. It’s been three years to practice monologue speaking in English to achieve this goal. I mean I found myself the best English speaking partner. I know it sounds crazy, but there are many successful language learners who also went through the same strategy as well. Of course, there are some nice English neighbors in my town, but I can’t meet them regularly. I have a large family that I need to take care of after work. It’s not easy for me to find a right time to meet up with them. If you were married, you would understand my situation. So I chose to practice speaking English with myself. I know it sounds crazy, but this is the best option I can choose from. Speaking with myself in English really suits me. It helps me with improving my speaking proficiency. I know I still make many mistakes even if I am able to express myself longer than ever, but it really helps me so much. Apart from speaking with myself in English, I’ve been doing my best to make my surroundings English. For example, I also set English displayed on my computer and smartphone. When needed, I take notes in English as often as I can. I only use an English-English dictionary rather than English-Korean one. I watch English speaking television shows with or without English subtitles. Also, I read English books such as novels, fan-fictions, and the Bible regularly. I’d like to be more serious about improving my English. :) How does it sound? Keep my fingers crossed. Thanks for your corrections in advance. Peace.
