using に and で

When is it proper to use に and で in a conversation.
For に i see;
あなたのために。
きみにとどけ。
私はあなたに日本語をおしえることができます。

and for で I see;
うみでおよいだ
ぜんぶでせねんです

Can someone explain how に and で works please?

One small thing, ぜんぶでせねんです --> ぜんぶでせんえんです, (it's "one thousand yen", isn't it? Please type "sennenn".)

に can be used for time whereas で cannot. に is used for when you are in motion. たとえば、 for example, when you are using words like 行く, 帰る, and くる, you'll want to use に. で is for action verbs like 食べる, はなす, and する. に is also used for things that are more of an "at" or "with" thing than "to". たとえば、 ともだちに会いました マクドナルドにつとめています カリフォルニアにすんでいます You wouldn't say, "I speak using my friends." like you would say "I speak using Japanese." That's why you don't say ともだちをはなします。 Saying something like 四時で、食べます would also sound weird. で can also be used in connecting parts of a sentence with な-adjectives: しずかで、おもしろいです。 に is also used for the phrase explaining why you're going somewhere: こうえんにあそびにいきました。 But mostly just focus on に for motion and で for action. That is key.

In my opinion , I usually use "に"as like "toward".
