Learning languages through songs Every person, and it doesn't matter where he comes from, remember a familiar song from his childhood. For instance the 'happy birthday' song. Have you ever asked yourself way do you remember this song so simply that you can sing it even in bed at 2 o'clock a.m. after dreaming about Angelina Julie (as a part of your language learning process off course)? Well there must be some reasons. I find learning through songs as an enjoyable and effective process to study languages. This kind of method contains of a few properties that make your entire learning process being more efficient and easy. In addition, implementation of this method open a door to your target language culture. The properties as follows: 1. Repeating effect 2. Combines both: active & passive learning 3. It is FUN! I can elaborate on every property at least one book-chapter but then you won't check my post for corrections. Therefore, I will give you, my wise readers, the honor to explore and experience the all three properties written above during study the Happy birthday song, holidays songs, the national anthem and some familiar children songs from your childhood of your target language country. Interesting post, Tal, you made a good point!

I will just write a couple of notes, since Geoff already wrote you a very good correction.

1) Another suggestion is that for 'property' maybe you meant to say 'feature':

"This kind of method includes a few features that make your entire learning process more efficient and easy"

2) I can could elaborate on every feature for at least one book-chapter but then you won't wouldn't check my post for to make corrections.

Could, because you are not planning to do it.

If you say 'to check my post for corrections' it sounds like you are looking at it to see if it has any corrections.  So you can say instead 'to check my post for errors', or to 'check my post to make corrections'.

I am looking forward to the next entry in your series! : )

Fantastic stuff!

Learning languages through songs

Every person, and it doesn't matter where he or she(we'll often say this in the US) comes from, remembers a familiar song from his/her childhood. For instance, the 'happy birthday' song.(This isn't a full sentence-you need a verb) Have you ever asked yourself why do you remember this a song so simply well that you can sing it even in bed at 2 o'clock a.m. after dreaming about Angelina Julie (as a part of your language learning process off course)? Well, there must be some several reasons.

I find learning through songs to be as an enjoyable and effective process to study languages. This kind of method contains of a few properties a few parts that will make your entire learning process being more efficient and easy. In addition, implementation of this method opens a door to your target language's culture. (to the culture of your target language sounds a little better, both are technically correct) The properties parts of this method are as follows:

1. Repeating effect
2. Combines both: active & passive learning
3. It is FUN!

I can elaborate on every property each part for at least one book-chapter but then you won't check my post for corrections. Therefore, I will give you, my wise readers, the honor to explore and experience the all three properties parts written above during study by studying the Happy birthday song, holidays songs, the national anthem and some familiar children songs from your childhood of your target language country.

Hi Tal! I think this method is a good addition for your learning process. I'm learning English currently. The first english songs that I've heard were The Beatles. I was around 10 years. I didn't learn English those days. It was album "A Hard Day's Night". I liked most of the songs and I was repeating songs' words after The beatles with no understanding what they means. :) I think their songs are the best for people who learns English :)

Glad to hear Manny .. I will give you another tip: after studying a few songs try to sing them out and loud in a karaoke party. Think how many skills improved while singing ..

I'm trying to do this now with Spanish! I think it's a fun way to learn and discover new vocab and pronunciation. I just look up some of the lyrics and create a list of some phrases I can use. Eventually, I'll have to expand my vocabulary,.. but, for now, it's effective and keeps me interested.
