*1: この上なく is fine though, この上ない程に sounds more natural b/c the latter clarifies this is metaphor.

*2: there're several adverbs having the same meaning as 'very' like とても, すごく, 大変 or 非常に. You can look up each usage online. The differences are subtle and need lots of examples to claliry, so please let me save my time :)

*3: ガラスのコピー機 is 'a copier made of glass'.
