Coordinating conjunctions. \I've recently realized that I use conjunctions all wrong. I decided to start with coordinating ones. If it is not hard for you, please, check it up. 1. We were running AS FAST AS possible. She shouted AS LOUD AS she could. 2. I was in a hurry FOR I didn't want to be late. I can't invite her to the prom FOR she already has a partner. 3. That test was extremly hard NEVERTHELESS I've done it. He hated oatmeal NEVERTHELESS he ate it for the sake of his mother. 4. It's better to end up your homework OTHERWISE you'll get a bad mark. You shouldn't dress up so easy OTHERWISE you'll come down with a flu. 5. I canceled the meeting SO I didn't have to go anywhere. It's very cold weather today SO I can lie in the bed all day. 6. I am already in my classroom WHEREAS you are still sleeping. A boy cleaned up the whole home WHEREAS his mother was at job. 7. I like knitting AS WELL AS embroidery. He hated to play on the piano AS WELL AS to sing. 8. We decided to go for a walk WHILE we had to stay at home and clean it up. We were playing football WHILEactually we had to be at the lecture.

Coordinating conjunctions.

I've recently realized that I use conjunctions all wrong. I decided to start with coordinating ones. If it is not too hard for you, please, check it up.
1. We were running AS FAST AS possible.
She shouted AS LOUD AS she could.
2. I was in a hurry, FOR I didn't want to be late.  Most people would use the subordinating conjunction "because" in this sentence, instead of "for."
I can't invite her to the prom, FOR she already has a partner.  Most people would use the subordinating conjunction "because" in this sentence, instead of "for."
3. That test was extremly hard; NEVERTHELESS I did it.
He hated oatmeal;NEVERTHELESS he ate it for the sake of his mother.  "Nevertheless" is not a "pure" coordinating conjunction.  It is often called a conjunctive adverb.  When speaking, there is a noticeable pause before you say "nevertheless."  Therefore, you need a semi-colon before "nevertheless."
4. It's better to finish up your homework; OTHERWISE you'll get a bad mark.
You shouldn't dress so lightly; OTHERWISE you'll come down with the flu.
5. I canceled the meeting, SO I didn't have to go anywhere.  When a coordinating conjunction joins two independent clauses, place a comma before the coordinating conjunction.
It's very cold weather today, SO I can lie in the bed all day.
6. I am already in my classroom WHEREAS you are still sleeping.
A boy cleaned up the whole home WHEREAS his mother was at job. "Whereas" is a subordinating conjunction.
7. I like knitting AS WELL AS embroidery.
He hated to play on the piano AS WELL AS singing.
8. We decided to go for a walk even though we were supposed to stay home and clean it up.
We were playing football even though we were supposed to be at the lecture.  "While" is not completely wrong, but "even though" is a better, more natural choice.
