About Learning English A lot of people learn English by a great variety of reasons. We study vocabulary, grammar, collocations and even culture. However, I was watching a movie and a girls asked to her friend how much does she weight and I didn't understand nothing what she answered. And I thought so hard about it and then I figured out that what was wrong is that I didn't relized that the measurements used in America and UK is different from what we use in Brasil. My point is, besides learning English you should learn some basic things as measurements and equivalence as well. It's hard enough just understand numbers because native speakers speak very fast. However, I watched the movie again and I pick up on that the girl said that she is 132 pounds that is approximately 60 kilograms.

However, I was watching a movie and a girl asked to her friend how much does she weighed , and I didn't understand her answer at all. And I thought so hard about it, and then I figured out that what was wrong was that I didn't hadn't realized that the measurements used in America and UK are different from what we use in Brazil. My point is, besides learning English you should learn some basic things such as measurements and their equivalents as well.
