The Petrobrás workers know about the leaking and wanted to call the firefighters but the managers said to them waiting for engineer came from the city near to he saw the problem. During this time happened a explosion and the shantytown was burning. Many people dead and burned. The information was dead 500 people but many people believe that dead more people. The petrol polluted the tide where stayed the shantytown. Today is neighborhood Vila São José , people avoid to call Vila Socó, but it don't have houses over the petrol pipelines and they have signs to show the place where they pass.
