A friend of mine is coming to visit! Hi Anne, Thank you for your e-mail. I’m really happy you are coming to Rome. I think the best time to visit is in the summer. Rome can be quite hot in July but If you come in June, almost every day is sunny and it’s not so warm. If you want to meet young people I suggest you attending a short Italian summer course. You can learn a bit of Italian and make local friend easily as well. Also, while you are there you can meet a lot of students from many countries too. In June you don’t have to bring a lot of stuff. You are just going to need t-shirts and a pair of running shoes because the best way to see Rome is by foot. Thanks also for your invitation to join the group. I’d love to meet your friends. Let me know when you are coming! Best wishes Francesco

Great email. Notice how few corrections there are!

You made some mistakes with what are called bracketing commas. These are used to set off an interjection from the rest of the sentence as in "Rome can be quite hot in July but, if you come in June, almost every day is sunny and it's not so warm.". See how you can remove the interjection ", if you come in June," and the remaining words make a perfectly formed sentence. This is only one of the four types of comma. These errors did not detract one bit from the meaning of your message but some pedants get quite hot under the collar about it.
