High school graduates should take a year off before entering college Graduating from high school is considered to be the landmark of each student. Therefore, concerning to this event, it the is claimed that high school graduates are in need of taking a gap year before enrolling in university. To the best of my knowledge, I am accordance with the aforesaid statement due to the following supports. First and foremost, high school period is regarded as such the most intense time of every student's learning career; hence taking a gap year off after graduation is a chance for them to revive their spirits. For instance, they enable themselves to enjoy the freedom of travelling around the world or visiting the hometown which is thousand miles apart. Additionally, the high school graduates may take advantage of this opportunity to make up their mind what they exactly desire to do in the not-too-distant future. It has been proved that many students who are forced to enter the university instantaneously will easily rush into choosing their career without thinking seriously which makes them regret deeply afterwards. Secondly, in my opinion, the students cannot have a thorough and solid grounding for their lessons at the university as well as the challenges in the real life with the limited academic knowledge provided from high school. On the grounds of that, the students need to utilize their gap year to gain the experience in life. For example,in my mind, it is prudent for them to work part time job or take part in some training courses to be taught soft skills. Furthermore, working as waiters, tutors or assistants also supplies the students with some money to pay for their learning and accommodation at university. In addition to this point, I suppose that this will also advocate the students to appreciate the value of money and the meaning of labor as well. In conclusion, according to the above reasons, it is necessary for the high school students to take a year off before entering college so as to facilitate them with perfect preparations.
