Tell Me a Chocolate Fairtale On Easter Monday, in Catalonia; we don't organize an eggs search, we have an especial tradition. The godfather give to their godsons a cake called "Mona" (it's the Catalan word for monkey) with some cartoon's characters, probably made by plastic or, if you are lucky, by chocolate. The pastisserie's windows are full of chocolate action figures and you can see the exciting children's eyes hoping that a particular cake would be for them. Nowadays the pastry chefs have returned to the origins and they make the chocolate figures usin round and egg shapes. This is the Raul Bernal's case, his mona is a figure with white round eyes, one bigger than the other. The hands, mouth and feet are strong orange colour. Even it has a belly button. His mona trigger smiles and tenderness. I have two sons, so on Monday, we are going to have a family lunch with the two Monas as a desserts.
