Taking TOEIC Last Sunday, I went to Jakarta for taking TOEIC. What’s it? TOIEC is an abbreviation for Test of English for International Communication. It was not my first time for taking this test. Before, I‘ve faced the same test for PERTAMINA’s selection processes. And for brief review, TOEIC consists of two parts. The first one is listening section and the rest is reading section. Then, there are 200 questions in total, divided into 100 questions for each section. Why should I take this test? The purpose is for fulfilling the requirement of Indonesian Government’s scholarship and I did not have any valid English proficiency. And the most important thing is I can know and get my result one hour after the test done. So, for all of you that need English proficiency test and need it ASAP, I recommend taking this test. As far as I know, TOEIC in Indonesia is held every Wednesday, and then it exists once a month TOEIC listening and reading for public. What’s the difference? I do not. But if I compare with my friend who will take TOEIC regular which is held in Wednesdays, its fee is more expensive than those in once a month. Well, I applied the once a month test and I got the test place in Mangga Dua. There were 10 people taking the test at that day. The test takers are obligate to arrive 30 minutes before the schedule. It’s done for re-registering and taking a photo. Then, they are allowed to enter the exam room. Before starting it, there will be instruction followed by filling the personal data in answer sheet. After that, TOEIC is started. Two hours passed really fast. And after an hour waiting, I got my result. It was a bit surprise because people like me who did not learn English properly can get 815 of 990. I think it is an average score, but I could pass my target score which is 785. . Yeaaaa.
