Intorduction Hi, everyone! My name is Liudmila, but some people find it difficulte to pronaunce, and they call me Mila. I live in St.Petersburg, and I like this city very much. I can walk around the city without any special goals for hours, and I admire it every time I go along its embankments or cross the bridges. My favorite place in the city is Palace Square. There are a lot of space (it's very unusual for the city) and all sounds are disappeared. You can see walking people, driving cars, but you hear only soft sounds, as if you were far from them. And one more special place in the city (for me)) is Vasilyevskiy Island. It is a "city in the city". I heard a joke, that you may be born, make friends, finish school, graduate from the University, work, gеt married, give birth to your children, be sick and treated at hospitals and be interred without leaving the Island. It is not true, of course, but it could be true, I think))) The Island has very special atmosphere. I cannot describe it. But I can feel it. I lodged a room in an old building on the Iseland for a couple of years. I lived not fare from an harbor, and I went there to watch on the sea)). To tell the truth, it is not a sea, it is a gulf (Gulf of Finland). And the water is cold there even in the summer. But I like thinking that "We have a sea, a real sea" (c) - it is a quatation from a cartoon about a local girl and her friends and about living in St.Petersburg, so if you learn Russian it may be fun for you to watch the cartoon. It's called after the main character "Masyanya".
