Rod, that which is "difficult" can usually also be interpreted as "interesting!" One thing that might surprise you though, is that while the grammar is indeed very different from Portuguese and English, the sounds of Russian are actually closer to Portuguese (at least in Carioca or Portugal accents*) than English sounds are. There are very few sounds you'd have to make in Russian that you can't find spread over different accents in Brazil. In Rio at least, Russians famously tend to be the best Portuguese learners, out of all foreigners. It's very easy for them to adapt to the local accent, and as a Carioca myself (though my primary language is English,) I've found the reverse to be true as well. For me personally though, the fact that the grammar and vocabulary is so different from English and Portuguese is one of the best parts! Learning easier and more familiar things might be faster and often very useful... but where's the fun in that? :)

If a person wants to learn Russian, he will do it. In my opinion, this language is difficult for people from other countries
