To Slander and To Lie at the Time of Internet. Slander that something to remain (“calumnia que algo queda”), to know if any phase exists in English something is complicated. But well, interestingly –as other languages, in Spanish we have a lot of phases to refer us about different experiences. Again, I don’t know if my translation is correct but the phase meaning that we can say lies about someone but in the mind of some people could remain something as a true. In many aspect in our daily life, the slander is something easy to make. For example, in an office someone can slander about the boss or a person who don’t like her/his. In the public environmental, someone can send a false news to newshounds or newspapers, and quickly the lie will be read for many people. Currently, the Internet has changed many things and false news are more quickly dispersed. Also, media are seeking to be the first in publishing a news or something about a public person. Sometimes, they based their news on Facebook, twitter or another social network. Some gossips have killed politicians, famous people, governors and relevant people. Another interesting thing is that Internet is exhibiting excesses of politicians. Cars, travels, watches, and other expensive things. Recently, a public functionary of Mexico resigned because a neighbor took a picture when he and his family were boarding an official helicopter. The picture was quickly distributed on Internet and he resigned some days after. Interestingly, the Internet is exhibiting some excesses made by politicians. Saludos desde México.

Very good José.  "Calumnia que algo queda" is similar to an idiom we have "if you thrown enough mud, some will stick."
