Spain
I don't (I'm unsure what to say, as you clearly said something right after, so "don't" doesn't really fit.) know what to say about Spain. The first thing that comes to my mind at this moment is related to our way of thinking. We are envious, it's one of our characteristics. I don't like to say this, but our best and most qualified people have had to leave this country, it seems incredible but many years ago our most important writers, artists and philosophers have given rise(attention) to much debate about this this debate.
One of the most important peole was Mr. Ortega y Gassett, well known from his famous book called "La españa invertebrada" (Spineless Spain).
In this great book he explains our worst nightmares. I could summarize the main ideas wich are given in this book:
1. In this country (I dont know how to say this exactly) "everyones by themselves (alone)", consequently (despite?) all it's a disaster.
2. Absence of best people (referred to qualified people that can manage and do the best for society.)
I feel especially sad when I review our history remembering our writers, pinters, musicians, and poets. For example, Federico García Lorca, one of our most universal poet that was killed. Also Miguel Hernandez, Antonio Machado and many others.
Our best musicians like Manuel de Falla (friend of García Lorca) had to leave Spain searching for a new life in Argentina, afterward developed a wonderful music career out of Spain in Europe.
Today, all of this, all this cultural legacy is practically forgotten by spanish people, such an extreme (shame?) that our culture are best known outside our borders.
