Essay Research shows that young people today are not as healthy as they were twenty years ago. Why is this and can we do anything about it? Nowdays it’s easy to see a lot of young people overweight and all the surveys and researches are telling about the increase of illnesses in children and teenagers. Nowdays young people are used to eat more processed food than twenty years ago. For example they seem to like junk food like hamburgers and french fries instead of eating season food and vegetables. Moreover, young people, especially if they are living in big cities, prefer to spend their free time playing videogames trapped in their house and often don’t want to join open air activities or doing sports. Another factor to consider is the high level of the air pollution that is now absolutely unsustainable . The pollution could be the cause of some ilnessess, like allergies, which are increasing exponentially. In conclusion I think that the research is describing a real and worrying situation. At the same time I think that a correct education, provided by family and school, could be important for young people in order to follow a healthier lifestyle.

I agree with you. Perhaps if we know better how the food is made up and the consequences of the junk food to our body and to environment, we will be able to make a responsible choice at least. But I don't think the corporations want to improve the knowledge across the world. Ans not only about the food.

The world is changing a lot.children are being fed junk from such a early age. When you feed a child junk food at the age of 2 or 3 onwards their food palate adjusts to this taste and bad eating habits are formed quickly followed by bad health. There are more harmful chemicals put into food these days to preseve and enhance flavours. Less people seem to be cooking meals from fresh ingredients unfortunately and processed food is cheaper and easier to obtain, it's "convenient". We are living in a quick fix and disposable culture where many are seeking instant gratification, whether its technology, food, human relations or whatever else.
