A Girl IS Recovering from an Epilepsy After Disconnecting Half of Her Brain Laura was operated at 1st-December of 2014, after 12-hour surgery half of her brain was disconnected and her left hemisphere was switched off. Laura is going to be 15 years old next July. She was a month old when her parents detected an assymmetry in her body: she had three wrinkles in her left leg ans two in her right leg. At five months old her head fell continuously. They chose a Health Care System Pediatrician who made a diagnose of cerebral paralysis and West syndrome, a type of rare epilepsy. Fifteen years later; Laura had defeat science. When she was diagnosed, doctors explained her parents she would not able to speak, run or even read. The reality was she crawled before having one year old and started walking at 1 year and a half. Although medication controlled epilepsy seizures during 8 years, they intensified a few time later. They tried to test another medications without results. Her left brain part was destroying her life. Now Laura is at her home, she is free of epilepsy seizures and more talkative and happy.
