My reflection of Yad-vashem(1) I am Cindy, and this is my first work which post on here. I hope someone can help me of it. This is a reflection of a trip to Yad-vashem, the Holocaust museum in Israel, where I live now. It is a little bit long, so I will separate it into tow part. I wrote about my thought, if you disagree with me, please let me know too. Thanks for reading!) For Jewish, the biggest disaster was the Holocaust. Over 60 million Jewish were killed at that days, or became refugees. Yad-vashem is a museum that wants all the Jewish who died during the Holocaust be remembered. The name of “Yad-vashem” means “a place and a name” in Book of Isaiah in Hebrew. The main idea of Yad-vashem is to remember the names of all the innocence people who been killed during the Holocaust. They were not just a number, they had their own personality, they were supposed to live in peace. However, the desaster came, and they had been forgot. Yad-vashem are tring to remeber those people, and telling theirs storise to keep these memory be never forget. This museum is a place for remember, and represents every Jewish who fought for their future. This was the sencond time I visited the museum, and this time the museum really impresses me. The frist time I went there was by myself, so I didn’t go into the deep history. This time, I felt like I back to that time, face to the things happened with Jewish. Each picture, each paper, each clothes they left, were all sharing the story to us. The most impressed things is a picture, the frist colorful picture. It was shot of a Germany soldier, who was sreaching for the things can use again in the clothes that Jewish left, on a top of a small green hill, where can even see the place far away. This place was near by a forest, which was a place murdered thousands of Jewish’s women, children, the elders, or patients. Inside the picture, the sky was not that clear, and I felt like there was full of dust and smoke. Green supposed to show people hope, luck and peace, and it supposed to be the symblo of living, although green was full of the picture, I only can saw dead and holpless there. The Nazi group chose such a nice place for their evil murdered. ... (this is only the first part, because now is out of limit.)
