My thought on stuyding English Today I watched a Korean talkshow named 'Abnormal Summit' and the topic is about sex education but at last they discussed about education in general and particularly, they talked about studying English in Korean. Talk about the show, the attendants are 11 foreigners living in Korea and they're quite fluent with Korean though they've just been here for 2 or 3 years and more. Some speak like native speakers. The Korean secretary (his position in the talkshow) asked how they could do that because he said he had been studying English for a long long time, when he was young but he still can't speak fluently. Guess what they answered? One of them who is from China said that Korean was interesting so he studied it. In China, same as Korea, they learn English is not for communicating but for exams or future jobs, they don't learn it as their hobby. And I think about me. I'm totally the same. When I was a child, I liked studying English the most. However, we just focused on grammar and skipped speaking and listening parts. We keep studying grammar for year. And now, even being a 3rd year university student, I can not speak English well. In fact, I'm studying Korean and I find it really interesting. I like looking for Korean and chatting with them on the internet. I know a Korean sister who is working in my place and I liking hanging out with her and practicing Korean. Even I sometimes speak Korean by myself. The problem of mine with English is not I don't have foreign friends so I can't practice. It can be a small part of problem but the more important thing is that I am afraid to speak in English. It's not hard to find foreigners there where I'm living because travellers is many. In addition, I like listening to Korean music and watching Korean films or shows, these days I even try reading comics in Korean which there is less captions. In general, I have a big resource to study Korea but to English, I have none. Now I feel that studying English is compulsory and it makes me bored. I want to improve my English skills but I have no way T.T
