Ana - Spanish Tutor
Self-teaching It's time to write a new entry and I want to tell how it's been to teach myself English. I started to teach myself 3 years ago when I was in highschool. From then on I've never used a book as a guide, I've just learned from things that make me happy. I'm immersed in English everyday: I read articles written in English, I follow people who write in English, I watch English TV shows subbed, I think in English, I talk to myself in English when I'm alone, I sing in English and listen to English music. In order to increase my vocabulary I help to translate in a Korean dramas' web site from English to Spanish and vice versa. What has helped me alot is the fact that I'm a lover of the dictionary, even in Spanish (my native language) I find pleasure in finding new words, and discovering new ways to express my ideas. For me languages are my biggest pleasure, I love to be able to communicate with people whose language and country is different from mine. I make the rules as I go. I learn what I want to learn. After all, I'm not learning under pressure, I'm not learning because I need to, I'm learning because I love doing it. And Portuguese will be exactly the same. I'll learn it with whatever method works better for me. If languages ever stop being fun to learn then I won't study them anymore. Until then, I want to learn as many as I can handle. :) Thanks for correcting me, it helps me a lot. Have a good day!

Self-teaching

It's time to write a new entry and I want to tell/see how it's been to teaching myself English/I want to tell/see how teaching myself English has been going.

I started to teach myself 3 years ago when I was in highschool. From then on, I've never used a book as a guide, I've just learned from things that make me happy. I'm immersed in English everyday; I read articles written in English, I follow people who write in English, I watch English TV shows subbed, I think in English, I talk to myself in English when I'm alone, I sing in English and listen to English music. In order to increase my vocabulary, I help to translate in a Korean dramas' web site from English to Spanish and vice versa. What has helped me a lot is the fact that I'm a lover of the dictionary. Even in Spanish (which is my native language) I find pleasure in finding new words, and discovering new ways to express my ideas. For me, languages are my biggest/greatest pleasure. I love to be able/I love being able to communicate with people whose language and country is different from mine/different from my own.

I make the rules as I go. I learn what I want to learn. After all, I'm not learning under pressure, I'm not learning because I need to, I'm learning because I love doing it.

And (generally, you dont want to start a sentence with a conjunction, such as "and, but, or or" because they are meant to join phrases and words, but unless youre writing an essay or report, its not a big deal :P) Portuguese will be exactly the same. I'll learn it with whatever method works better/best for me.

If languages ever stop being fun to learn, then I won't study them anymore. Until then, I want to learn as many as I can handle. :)

Thanks for correcting me, it helps me a lot.

Have a good day!

Excellent! I think you can bump yourself above B1:pre-intermediate, probably even in advanced! Youve got a good grasp on English. Keep it up
