Stew Sensei
Second session complete (follow me on tumblr/twitter@ I'mmovingtoJapan for updates on my progress) Now as this reply can really only be placed in the case of someone saying hello to you first, I asked how could I respond politely if I was the first one to start the conversation: こんかいわあなたのじかんありがとうございましたしかしわからないのでけっこうです (konnkaiwa anatanojikann arigatou gozaimashita shikashi wakaranainode kekkou desu) [At this time I appreciate your time but since it's not comprehensible no thank you] I also want to know some additional information to finish off the conversation! The obvious next part was ありがとう but I also wanted to know how to say "have a nice day".Although on a trip to Japan I did feel the people were not as personal as this but I still wanted to know so I could keep a part of my personality: いよいいちにちをおすごしください。(iyoi ichi nichi wo osugoshi kudasai) next up we talked about what would come next. Well after the train journey I may be tired so a useful phrase to know is: わたしわてってもつkれています (watashi wa tottemo tukaretaimasu) [I am extremely tired (in a polite manner)] Also another useful phrase after a long journey: おなかすいてます (onaka suite imasu) [My stomach is empty] then we went back to being on the plane and talking to the air host/hostess: ぼく:おなかすいています。たんべたいものありますか? せんせい:ここではこしょくじなどをごよういできます。わたしtちわいんちょうをていきょうすることもできあます。(koko deha koshokuji nadowo goyoui dekimasu. sorejyouni watashitachi wa innryou wo teikyousurukotomo dekiamasu.) [Here we can prepare meals. We can also make drinks.] ぼく:なにはこしょくじですか?(nani wa koshokuji desu ka?) [What meals is it?] せんせい:このきないではピーナッツとおすしごよういできます。( konokinaidewa peenatsu to osushi goyouidekimasu) ぼく:すみません。ぼくはピーナッツアレルギーをもっています。おすしだいじょうぶです。びるください。 (sumi masen. boku ha peenatsu arerugi wo motte imasu. Sushi daijyoucu desu. biru kudasai.) 「Sorry I have a peanut allergy. Sushi will be fine.Could I have a beer]. Well all done for today! Now I feel tired!! Night night.
